Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Adam Nordin on May 30, 2016:

J Jones!

I'm at a loss for words as I sit here on Memorial Day 2016 thinking about you. You were the unbreakable, the one that I expected to be leading America's specialized soldiers until the end of time.

I am sad to report to you that the state of the Middle East is not much different from when you saw it last. The Enterprise continues to deploy its most valued Soldiers to combat terrorism on two fronts, and by no means is there an American appetite to maintain these operations.

There are a few of us that are still committed to the cause - you can probably guess who they are. They are the tried and tested ones that we would've expected at school or in the last few years.

J- I will never forget Jake Kerr telling me the news. Another one of us who gave his life in the name of Freedom on a foreign soil.

Your memory lives on in all of us. I remember you today not only as a friend, but as a brother. As you fall in on the ranks of the Long Gray Line, I rest well knowing that a man such as yourself has been called upon to watch over us and keep us safe. Danger hides in the shadows, and no better man than you to be there to cast a light in our paths.

Rest Well, Brother. You earned it.

-Adam
